Philosophy

Inspired by the ideals and ideas of integrated education of Sri Aurobindo and The Mother, the educational aim of MatriKiran is to help children develop their physical, mental, emotional, psychic, and spiritual facets through learning by exploration and discovery. We believe that our institution is a place where every child needs to be happy, and where learning can take place unhindered by the burden of expectations. For us, spirituality and value education are important ingredients towards helping young children understand themselves and the world around them.

Sri Aurobindo and The Mother believed that souls of all children have a natural inclination to learn and are waiting for the call of knowledge to awaken them to meaningful and pleasurable living. This is where we begin at MatriKiran - keeping the child, the learner, the organic soul - in mind. With guidance, focus, encouragement, and love, we help the child to become fully aware and conscious of all that is around him. A consciousness that leads them to awaken their own self to truth, light, and knowledge so that they mature into unique, vibrant, productive, and compassionate human beings.

This philosophy has given birth to MatriKiran and reflects the soul of this institution. It is this identity that gives us our sense of commitment and focus.

Motto

"vidya jeevanam jyoti"

which in Sanskrit means Knowledge is the Light of Life, is the school motto and reflects the qualities and characteristics which are at the core of our mission. We believe education is a vehicle to foster character, competence, and compassion in every student and all efforts are directed towards the achievement of this goal.

Affiliation

MatriKiran is a co-educational ISC school. Our Junior School on Sohna Road started in 2011 and High School in INXT started in 2016.

We affiliated our School with CISCE, Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations.

Academic Excellence

We follow Integral and Integrated approach in our pedagogy. We engage students with hands-on investigations and projects across the Grades and subject areas. We offer students an academic experience that is genuinely challenging, rich, and relevant. This lays the foundation for future learning, shapes early character development, and prepares students for entry into excellent universities. But what sets us apart is our expertise in social-emotional development that makes each student’s learning more robust.

The evaluation process at MatriKiran goes beyond the standardised tests; it is an ongoing process in various forms of learning. We believe each child learns best not by reliance on normative standards, testing or passively consuming knowledge, rather that each child learns best by actively constructing their own understanding based on his or her knowledge, skills and experience.

Our approach for academic excellence:

1) Continuous reviews and evaluation

2) Focus on individual growth

3) Lessons imparted by extremely experienced and qualified teachers.

Teachers Qualifications, Training and Experience

Our well qualified (some of our teachers have Doctorate degrees), experienced and ICSE trained teachers are experts at understanding the developmental characteristics and needs of children at the Grade level they are teaching. Teachers discern differences in learning styles among their students, and prepare lesson plans accordingly. Teachers try to deeply understand each student cognitively, socially and emotionally–and work closely with them. Our teachers continue their individual professional development through yearly training, both as individuals and as a group.

Student -Teacher Ratio

MatriKiran believes in a student teacher ratio that allows for an effective learning experience. Our maximum class size is designed never to exceed 25 students.

Chairperson's Message

Chairperson's Message

With great pleasure, we introduce the educational initiative of the Auro Education Society – MatriKiran, an English medium, co educational day school from Grades Pre-Nursery to 12.

While planning MatriKiran, many a times we were confronted with the question of why another school in Gurgaon. With the changing social milieu, we felt the need to raise standards by promoting a school ethos which is underpinned by core values that support the development of the whole child as a reflective learner. A school which believes that children have a natural inclination for learning, all they need is a happy environment and a loving guide.

Inspired by the ideals and ideas of integrated education of the Mother and Sri Aurobindo, MatriKiran aims at making learning natural, experiential and joyful. We have taken steps to plan the curriculum, infrastructural spaces and a faculty that will work collectively towards meeting our mission statement.

We hope that each one of you enjoy the MatriKiran experience and see your children growing into good human beings.

Warmly,
Divya Bhalla
